4:44 p.m. - On Saturday, Spokane Police officers responded to a call of a male subject who had tried to stab someone in the area of 6th/Browne.

Woman arrested after reports she was waving handgun around

5:43 p.m. - Spokane Police took a woman into custody without incident after reports the woman was displaying a handgun, one of those reports near a school.

'Secret Santas' to plug parking meters starting Monday

5:19 p.m. - Beginning Dec. 7, through New Year’s Day, the City’s ten parking enforcement officers will be out randomly providing free parking to citizens.

Mayor, Council President announce joint inquiry

4:27 p.m. - Mayor David Condon and City Council President will jointly select an independent evaluator to conduct an inquiry into process, policy and timelines.

Flags to fly half-staff to remember Pearl Harbor

4:15 p.m. - National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day honors those Americans killed or injured as a result of the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.

City places police employee on layoff status

2:05 p.m. - A police sergeant charged with second-degree rape has been placed on unpaid layoff status pending outcome of the trial.

Thanks to Tip, Stolen Puppy Recovered, Returned to Pet Shop

7:44 p.m. - Spokane Police Detectives from the North Precinct, acting on tips from the public, were able to recover a puppy stolen from Northwest Seed & Pet.

SPD helps out at Heroes and Helpers in partnership with Target

6:24 p.m. - The Spokane Police Department and Spokane’s South Hill Target store will partner together Saturday, Dec. 5th, to host Heroes and Helpers.

State, U.S. flags to fly half-staff

12:15 p.m. - Mayor Condon has directed that flags at all City facilities be lowered to half-staff to honor victims in the San Bernardino attack.
