Spokane Police Department Major Crimes Detectives make an arrest in the Homicide that took place in the McDonalds parking lot in the early morning hours of Monday. See original press release below.
Earlier today SPD MCU detectives booked 27-year-old Christian J Robinson into jail for 2nd Degree Murder. Robinson was one of the three males originally contacted by patrol when they responded to the shooting. The investigation is ongoing, anyone with information regarding the shooting or any events surrounding the incident are encouraged to contact police by calling crime check 456-2233.
At 01:16 AM SPD received a 911 call from a female who was reporting her friend had just been shot. In the moments after initially receiving the call the complainant further advised the shooter was still at the scene. Within four minutes SPD patrol units arrived and found a male with a gunshot wound in a car in the parking lot of the restaurant, as well as multiple people still at the location. Medics arrived and first responders began to treat the wounded man however they pronounced him dead a short time later while he was still at the scene.
Patrol units secured the crime scene and detained numerous people they believed to be involved, including a male who had left the area but was located a short distance away. The Spokane Police Department Major Crimes Unit responded and the investigation is ongoing. The police are processing the crime scene and speaking with people involved in the incident.
Family and friends of the decedent were notified of the incident by people at the scene and responded to the location of the shooting. A Spokane Police Chaplain was called and responded to assist the family.
Currently the business is closed and will remain so for some time until the investigation at the scene is complete.
